This project was very near and dear to my heart.
For as long as I can remember, i’ve loved mountain biking. My second real bike was built for trails and I haven’t looked back. Over the years, I got into trail building, and turned it into a job, and a great way to give back to a sport that has shaped me into who I am.
Trails are special as they are a living art form in collaboration with nature. It’s on a human scale that you can interact with, and if done properly, will outlive us all.
So when the opportunity came to build trails in Uganda, and mentor a group of people to help bring more industry to the region through tourism, I jumped at the chance. But I didn’t realize just how much the trip would impact me.
