Photography is all about perspective, and mountains allow you to find myriad perspectives in a short amount of time and space. I love the sense of awe that comes from seeing far into the distance, and watching light touch the varied terrain throughout different parts of the sun’s path in a day.

Here are a few of my favourite mountain scenes from life in British Columbia’s Coast Range and being drawn to them whenever I visit somewhere new around the world. Each scene I have many other versions of, so if you like one, get in touch and i can always show you a few more.

A word often associated with Action Sports is “Crazy”, but from my experience these disciplines breed some truly level headed individuals. Sure you have a few crazy ones like any other group of people… but not as many as the media and advertisers would have you believe.

As someone who attributes much of my personality to what others have categorized as “extreme”, I often choose to not bring a camera bag with me, and opt to just be in the moment in the search and acquisition of flow. But for those moments that I have chosen to capture, here are a few of the ones I enjoy the most.

Maybe not everyone loves to travel, but those that do consider it a part of their being. For many, the only thing limiting travel is time and budget. As a traveler myself, I’ve always sought to incorporate my love of travel with helping the travel industry itself sustain a symbiosis with cool people learning about cool experiences.

Being from British Columbia makes it easy to welcome the world to such a beautiful locale. As a part of Destination BC’s content team, I learned on a deep level the needs of international travellers and how to create multifaceted campaigns to reach them, and eventually earn the privilege to serve them.

Being someone who plays outside has me with a keen interest to preserve nature’s potential. Time outside has done so much for my soul and I know has the power to do the same to countless others if they choose to let it.

Now, as a father, I have even more reason to fight for the health of our planet, and therefore the entirety of Earthlings who depend on her for life.  I know history will study this period and how much humans contributed to their own demise, but I’ll be damned if I don’t at least do my best to help the energy swing towards salvation instead. I choose to present images that evoke emotion; either appreciation for our planet’s beauty or anger and justice to those that threaten it.
